Collection of used oils in Lavagna

  • What we collect and how
  • Where you can find the containers

What we collect and how

We collect waste vegetable oil used for food preparation or preservation

Used vegetable oils are classified as waste that must be disposed of through proper recycling—they should never be poured down the kitchen sink.

Thanks to dedicated roadside containers, we can collect oils and fats from fried foods as well as oil from canned foods (such as tuna, mushrooms, etc.).

Wash water, synthetic motor oil, and food residue cannot be placed in the containers.

Here are some simple guidelines for the separate collection of used oils:

Remove any food residue from the used oil and, if it's hot, allow it cool

Pour the cooled oil into plastic bottles (up to 2 litres) and seal them securely

Locate the nearest collection container and deposit your filled bottles there

Where you can find the containers

Containers are located throughout the municipality

We have placed dedicated street containers in the city equipped with an animal-proof system. You can find them:

  • Piazza Cordeviola
  • Piazza Milano
