: Where, when and how to dispose of different types of waste based on the area of the city: what you need to know for careful separate waste collection
In Como, separate waste collection may vary depending on the area of the city. Separate waste correctly and place it in the appropriate containers (bags and bins). Check the collection calendar to find out when we will collect each type of waste in each area of the Municipality.
On the map you can also see the other services offered, such as the presence of containers and the location of the ecological platform and eco-island. The eco-island (in Via Conciliazione – at the Tavernola parking area) is open 24 hours a day and is accessible with the Regional Services Card.

Other collections
- Nappies
Citizens who need to activate the twice-weekly door-to-door collection service for the collection of nappies and incontinence pads and who have not yet been contacted may call the PR Office of the Municipality of Como at 031 252777, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., from Monday to Thursday.
Citizens who have children between the ages of 0 and 3 years can apply for a card to open street bins. The bins are located:
- Albate District: parking area Via Sant’Antonino – corner of Via Longhena
- Lora District: Via Don Giovanni Bosco – corner of Promenade Papa Giovanni XXIII
- Breccia/Prestino District: Piazzale Giotto
- Rebbio/Camerlata: Parking area Via Grilloni/Giussani
- Camnago Volta District: Piazzale Don Serafino Pozzetti
- Como Borghi/San Martino District: Via XX Settembre corner of Via A. Moro
- Outside Walled City: Viale Varese – corner of Via Cattaneo
- Caserme District: Via Leone Leoni/Via Anzani
- Sagnino/Tavernola District: Parking area Via Segantini – Largo Don Piercarlo Contini
- Monte Olimpino/Ponte Chiasso District: Via Bellinzona (under A9 viaduct)
